Decorate your fireplace mantel for Thanksgiving and fill your room with vibrant and rich oranges, reds, yellows and gold themes that couple with the blazing warm fire to become a peaceful hearth where everyone will want to gather for the holidays.

   Arrange Fabric

Neatly arrange your holiday fabric on your fireplace mantel. Before you arrange your fabric, make sure your mantel is clean and then evenly place your fabric onto the mantel. You can either use a single colored piece, or you can layer them in complimentary colors, like a darker red piece on the bottom and with a lighter orange piece on top.

Arrange Dried Flowers in Attractive Vases

Using rich colors such as deep red and orange, brown and gold will warm up your fireplace mantel and provide a restful Thanksgiving atmosphere. Choose either clear vases or ones that match your choice of flowers. If you use a tall vase to display your flowers, it can be the focal point of your fireplace mantel. Place it in the middle of your mantel and decorate around it.

   Use Tea Light Candles

To provide a warm glow, place small tea light candles around your mantel. Avoid pastel colored candles because they do not fit into the Thanksgiving inspired color scheme, and are better suited for holidays such as Easter. Make sure you do not place the candles anywhere close to your dried flowers or other materials that can catch fire and always place them in a candle holder that will catch excess melted wax.

   Decorate Small Cornucopia Baskets

Decorate baskets filled with fall fruits and vegetables to give your mantel the feeling of Thanksgiving abundance. Use vegetables such as eggplants, zucchini, corn and squash. Fill your basket first with your vegetables, and then cascade artificial grapes out of the basket for a more abundant look. You can also place fresh pomegranates and lemons on your fireplace mantel so as the stone fireplace heats up, the oils in the fruit will disperse, creating a lovely scent.
